Social Services

Like children, adults are sometimes in danger of harm, unable to protect themselves, and have no one else to assist them. ODHS' Adult Protective Services reduces or remedies conditions causing endangerment to adults, maximizing the adult's independence and self-direction, and preventing unnecessary institutionalization.

Support services are provided by CDHSs which are guided by ODHS rules, policies and procedures. The Social Service staff assists with providing information, direct supportive services and referrals to community services for adults, families and children in Jefferson County.
